Roosevelt Island's numerous parks and beautiful views make it an ideal location for a special event such as a wedding ceremony or family reunion. While every event is different, here are general guidelines and advice for contacting us:
General guidelines:
The BBQ grills on the island are located in Lighthouse Park and behind The Octagon along the West Seawall. Personal grills are not allowed anywhere on the Island.
Four Freedoms Park operates independently of RIOC. RIOC does not issue permits for this location. Please click here for more information.
RIOC does not issue permits for events that have alcohol. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in any RIOC facilities or public open spaces on the island.
RIOC does not allow exclusive use of areas in Southpoint Park or Lighthouse Park on weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

A Special Event permit is not required when:
You are not occupying the park exclusively.
You are not setting up any tables, chairs, tents, or other structures that may interfere with vehicular or pedestrian traffic or other people's enjoyment of the park.
