In a follow up to an earlier notice, barriers and signage will be placed to prohibit vehicular traffic along the eastern promenade on Friday, September 13th. Official RIOC vehicles will have to obey a ten mile per hour speed limit along the promenade. There will also be sufficient space between the bollards to allow for wheelchair and bicycle access. We will place removable bollards at the breezeway exit to the East Promenade at 510, 240 and 560 Main Street. In addition, the breezeway at 580 Main Street that leads to the promenade will have a chain link that can be removed by emergency personnel. The bollards which are Yoddoc bollards will be filled with water. The amount of water to be filled will allow the bollards to be moved in case of emergency by NYPD or FDNY or PSD. During winter months, the bollards filled with water must be evaluated and may have a chemical added to water the water to reduce freezing. All bollards and chain links can be easily removed by emergency personnel in case of an emergency. If you have any questions about the placement of the bollards, please call 212-832-4540. If you would like to report an unsafe condition or trespassing vehicle, please contact PSD at 212-832-4545 or use our Occupant Help Center at https://rioc.tikkit.us/login
