

Reporting to the Director of Transportation, the Bus Operator, will operate Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) Red buses in a safe, efficient and courteous manner.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Checks the general condition of bus before driving, reporting problems to appropriate supervisor.
Follows designated Roosevelt Island route according to predetermined schedules.
May, as instructed, follow alternate routes and schedules.
Observes traffic regulations and supplementary RIOC guidelines.
Reports accidents and/or other incidents to supervisor.
Answers questions and provides directions or appropriate information to passengers.
Operates wheel chair lift and otherwise assists disabled passengers.
May assist in the cleaning and disinfecting of buses.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Must qualify and meet NYS DMV 19-A.
· Must possess a valid NYS CDL Driver’s License (CDL with Class A or B and P endorsement) with clean driving record.
· Must complete and pass a 19-A medical examination, & drug and alcohol testing.
Additional Information:
· Schedule: Availability to work flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends.
· A road test with writing component will be required prior in-person interview.
