North Cabin Tram Update
The POMA team continues to work to resolve the mechanical issues affecting the North Tram Cabin, however they do not anticipate full service to be restored this weekend. The South Cabin remains in service, operating on a 15-minute schedule. Travelers are encouraged to plan accordingly and consider alternative transportation options, including the subway and ferry, when planning their commute. Riders can also check the Tram station live-feed cameras for current station conditions before beginning their trip: https://www.rioc.ny.gov/community/transportation/tram We apologize for the ongoing inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to restore normal service.

Saturday 10/24: RIOC Halloween Parade & Extravaganza!
Dear Roosevelt Island Community: Join RIOC for some spooky fun at the annual Roosevelt Island Halloween Extravaganza & Parade on Saturday, October 24! The parade kicks off at Capobianco Field at 10:45 AM, followed by festivities at Southpoint Park from 11 AM to 3 PM. Enjoy the island's annual costume parade, a marching band, food, carnival games, pumpkin painting, giveaways and more! Tram Personnel Training Session Sunday (10/11) 6AM-11AM
Dear Roosevelt Island Community: Please be advised that Tram service will be affected the morning of Sunday, October 11th from 6AM to 11AM to accommodate a state mandated training session for all Tram operators and maintenance personnel. While the training is taking place, one cabin will be out of service and one cabin will operate on its normal weekend schedule, servicing passengers every 15 minutes. The second cabin will resume service once the training is complete, so please plan your morning travel accordingly. Regular cabin attendants will be on hand to alert riders of the ensuing training. In addition to the greater-than-normal amounts of Tram personnel, during the training, you will also notice higher noise volumes on and around the Roosevelt Island station, including from the evac braking system which will be engaged during safety drills. NYC Ferry Service Alert – All Routes – UN General Assembly – 9/20 to 9/26
Due to the UN General Assembly, increased security restrictions on the East River surrounding the Wall Street heliport may disrupt and/or suspend service temporarily on all routes from September 20 to 26. Waterway restrictions near the United Nations building may also cause delays, cancellations, or service suspensions on the Astoria, and Rockaway-Soundview routes. These times and locations are subject to change without warning and are at the discretion of the U. S. Coast Guard. Visit ferry.nyc or the NYC Ferry app for real-time schedules and service alerts.

NYC Ferry: No Roosevelt Island Ferry Service Today
Roosevelt Island Community: According to NYC Ferry, Due to US Coast Guard harbor security restrictions for the UN General Assembly, there will be no ferry service north of East 34th Street on Tuesday, 9/22. The following landings will be closed: Hunters Point South Long Island City Roosevelt Island Astoria East 90th Street Soundview Ferry Point Park The East River route will bypass Hunters Point South. The Astoria route will operate between Pier 11 and East 34th Street. The Rockaway-Soundview route will operate between Rockaway and East 34th Street. Additional security restrictions may take place with limited notice from US Coast Guard. Ferry service to closed landings may resume if restrictions are lifted.
