Dear Roosevelt Island Community: Following one of the largest blizzards New York City has experienced in years, the RIOC Grounds team continues its snow removal operations across Roosevelt Island. Our dedicated ten-person team is responsible for clearing much of the Island, from roadways and sidewalks to public spaces and bus stops. Team members have already worked more than 24 consecutive hours to address the heavy snowfall. This storm came on the heels of another significant snow event, during which the team also worked extended shifts to keep the Island safe and accessible. We ask for your continued patience as crews work methodically to clear remaining snow and ice. Please be careful as you navigate roads and walkways here and across the city. We also want to thank our Grounds, Public Safety and Transportation teams for their extraordinary effort, long hours, and commitment to the Roosevelt Island community. – Team RIOC
