Dear Roosevelt Island Community: In celebration of National Historic Marker Weekend 2026, the Roosevelt Island Youth Center, in partnership with the Roosevelt Island Historical Society (RIHS), invites the community to take part in the Roosevelt Island History Quest today from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This interactive, family-friendly event encourages participants to explore six of Roosevelt Island’s most notable historic sites while learning about the Island’s rich history. Attendees can pick up a “Roosevelt Island Passport” at any participating location and visit each of the six historical markers to complete fun, educational activities and collect stamps. Participants who collect all six stamps can return their completed passport to the Visitor Center (located across from the Tram) to receive a special giveaway.
