Dear Roosevelt Island Community: Beginning Monday, September 14, the east side line of the AVAC system will be offline for approximately two weeks to accommodate maintenance work inside the AVAC facility. Management at all affected buildings has been notified and asked to close their chutes beginning September 13th at midday until further notice. The Department of Sanitation (DSNY) will provide daily garbage pickups for affected buildings beginning September 14. Building managers have been instructed to place garbage at the curb after 7:00 PM the day prior for 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM next day pickup. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while this necessary maintenance work is completed. Should the work conclude ahead of schedule, the east side AVAC system will be restored promptly. —RIOC Maintenance
